The dedicated students of the STRIPE Cadet Corps enhance campus safety by providing transport and escort services, both on foot and by cart. They also support the University Police with additional responsibilities, such as door unlocks and building lock-ups, as assigned by dispatch. Each STRIPE unit consists of trained student employees equipped with uniforms, radios, and cell phones, ensuring constant communication with dispatch and officers. Their presence strengthens security on campus and in the surrounding Stockton community, fostering a greater sense of safety and belonging.
How your gifts make an impact:
"Working with the STRIPES program has been one of the most rewarding experiences. It allowed me to build bridges and foster an environment of trust and cooperation between students and law enforcement, which is crucial for building a safe and supportive community. Observing campus police officers expertise and dedication to community service deepened my understanding of law enforcement. I gained insights into effective communication, conflict resolution, and community policing. The skills and knowledge I acquired during my time with STRIPES have made me a more well-rounded campus police officer today. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities and experiences I had with STRIPES." - Pacific Police Officer, Jasper Chuang (Former STRIPE Cadet)
