Below you will find answers to many common questions about Pacific Gives 2024.

What is #PacificGives?

#PacificGives is a 24-hour online fundraising event to bring the entire Pacific family— students, alumni, faculty, staff, parents, friends and the local community—together in support of current and future Tigers. On April 23-24th, from noon to noon, we will stand together to celebrate all things Pacific and lead with purpose through philanthropy.

Why give on #PacificGives?

When you give during #PacificGives, you'll be joining hundreds of others in the Pacific community to show your Tiger Pride from all over the world. You'll also be able to choose from a variety of challenges and matching gift opportunities to increase the impact of your gift.

What are challenges?

Throughout #PacificGives, a variety of challenges will create opportunities to leverage your support for the school or program that matters to you. Challenges may include a dollar for dollar match or reaching a donor participation goal that will unlock additional funding for the school or program.

Can I create a recurring gift?

You can make a recurring gift by visiting Pacific.edu/MakeAGift. Please note that only payments processed April 23-24th, will count toward #PacificGives, so while the first installment will be eligible for challenge match funds, your grand total will not be.

How do I know if my employer will match my gift?

Several companies offer employee matching gift programs that match their employee’s monetary gifts to nonprofit organizations, such as Pacific. This allows you to multiply your support by double, or in some cases even triple your gift! Click here to learn more and search your company using our Matching Gift Company Directory.

How can I participate? 

The simplest way to participate in #PacificGives is to make your gift at Pacific.edu/PacificGives. You can also call 209.946.2500 or mail your check to:

Another valuable way to participate is by spreading the word. Tell your friends about Pacific Gives on social media using the hashtag #PacificGives. You can even sign up to be an Ambassador for Pacific Gives at Pacific.edu/PacificGives.

 

What do gifts to #PacificGives support?

The great thing about #PacificGives is that you can designate your gift to your own area of passion or calling, while still being a part of the larger community. Each school or program has selected a few areas that need your support the most; all you have to do is choose your favorite.

What happens if I select "OTHER" and type in my fund?

Gift processing will make every effort to identify your fund preference and apply your gift accordingly. If the fund cannot be identified or does not exist, the gift will be applied to the Pacific Fund.

Is there a minimum donation amount?

Every gift, regardless of the amount, makes a difference for Pacific students, and your participation at any level shows that you're a proud member of the Tiger community!

Can I give stock or through a donor-advised fund (DAF), IRA distribution, or wire transfer in support of #PacificGives?

Yes. To explore these creative ways to give to Pacific on #PacificGives and year-round, please contact pacificfund@pacific.edu.

Is my #PacificGives contribution tax-deductible?

Your gift is tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law, which excludes the fair market value of any benefits received. If no benefits were provided in connection with a gift, the full value of the gift may be tax-deductible. University of the Pacific is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization. Tax id 94-1156266.
