Community Involvement Program

The Community Involvement Program (CIP) is a comprehensive, need-based scholarship and retention program for first-generation college students from the Stockton. Students who have demonstrated the potential for sustainable leadership, community awareness and involvement are eligible.

CIP was established in 1969 by a group of students, community members, faculty and staff who wanted to provide educational opportunities to the local community and diversify the University of the Pacific campus. More than 2,000 students have graduated from the program since its inception.

You can help more CIP scholars realize their dreams by giving to one of the following funds during Pacific Gives 2024. Every gift, no matter the size, counts and truly makes a meaningful difference in the lives of our students. Thank you!

Community Involvement Program Alumni Endowed Scholarship

Provides CIP Scholars with financial assistance for tuition, books, living expenses and other costs that may not be fully covered by other scholarships or awards. Students can renew this scholarship annually if minimum requirements are met.

Benjamin and Janie Reddish Endowed Scholarship

Established in memory of Benjamin Reddish, beloved program mentor and applicant interviewer for more than 30 years, the Reddish Endowed Scholarship benefits CIP Scholars pursuing a career in education. A true champion of positivity, empowerment and love, Dr. Reddish left an extraordinary legacy in the students he mentored.
