Pacific Summer High School Institute

The Pacific Summer High School Institute is a two-week residential program offering an immersive preview of college life, in which participants live, learn, and build community on Pacific campus; and play in the Tigers' athletic facilities. Students and parents describe the experience as "life changing," helping students discover and cultivate the dream of attending a four-year university.

In 2022, the inaugural Summer Institute drew more than 300 participants from the Central Valley and across the U.S. and Canada. Last summer, an expanded program hosted more than 1,600; this year those numbers will continue to grow, as Pacific anticipates 1,800 students across 55 academic, musical and athletic programs.

2023 Summer Institute Highlights

• 1,628 students enrolled in 50+ programs across every school/college, the library, intercollegiate athletics and student life.  
• Every program was "loved" or "liked" in the post-Institute survey
• Nearly 90% of participants wanted to attend the Institute again
• 80% of attendees were interested in enrolling at Pacific.
  
  

Along with promoting college readiness, the Institute builds self-confidence away from home. Said one participant, "This summer institute really helped me become more independent and learn how to take responsibility for myself. I made some lifelong friends and am very happy I attended." Added another, "Every day was something new, and I definitely got clarity about what I want to do in college.”
