During this unprecedented time, we ask our University of the Pacific Community to come together to support students in their time of need. You can make a difference for a student who may not have the immediate resources to continue their education during these difficult times.
Pacific Student Emergency Fund
This fund provides relief for Pacific students facing a financial crisis, including food or housing insecurity, technology needs or other unexpected financial emergencies. Emergency relief funds are vital to the safety and well-being of students in need during this unprecedented time.
Helping people is in Pacific’s DNA.
You can see this throughout our long and storied history. During challenging times, Tigers come
together to support each other.
Now is one of those times.
My name is Randi Holguin, and I am honored to serve as the Associated Students of University of the Pacific (ASuop) student body president. As a first-generation college student, I’m so grateful for everything Pacific has done to help students succeed.
While all Pacific students are adjusting to a very different academic year, the financial challenges
caused by the pandemic, California wildfires, and more have been exceptionally difficult for Pacific’s most
vulnerable students, including first-generation college students, former foster youth,
those who are housing insecure, and international students who cannot travel home to be with their
families.
That’s why I’m writing to tell you about the university’s student emergency fund that provides aid to students experiencing hardship. When you make a gift to this fund, it goes directly to the students who need it most. And these funds make a huge difference:
“Thank you so much. You threw your bucket down into my well of desperation
and pulled me up, and out. I will be forever grateful.”

Your year-end gift can provide these students with the resources they need to stay enrolled, earn their degrees, and build a better future for all of us. Your support will help pay for:
• Technology needs like laptops, webcams, Wi-Fi, and software for remote learning
• Groceries and toiletries like toothpaste, soap, and shampoo
• Rent and housing assistance
On behalf of all Pacific students, I thank you for your consideration and for making the holiday
season a little brighter for Pacific students. Your generosity during these difficult times will be
remembered for years to come.
Wishing you good health and happiness,
Randi Holguin
ASuop President
