In Benerd College, we meet students where they are and empower them to become change agents. Benerd serves as an innovation hub, leveraging the science of learning to create and deliver relevant, transformational, and accessible educational experiences in a flexible, supportive personalized learning environment for students in every stage of their academic journey.
You can help more students realize their potential—as educators, as leaders and as forces for positive change in their communities—by giving to any of the following funds during Pacific Gives 2022. You may also give directly to any area by selecting the "Other" designation in the drop-down menu of the giving form and writing in the area you would like to support.
Student Emergency Fund: Benerd Promise
This emergency fund supports Benerd students with unmet financial needs, including non-traditional students who face extenuating circumstances due to the pandemic. Housing, food insecurities, childcare, compromised health of a loved one, or decreased work hours are prime examples that impact their ability to continue their coursework. Please join us to support our Benerd students.
First Generation Students: Benjamin and Janie Reddish Endowed Scholarship
In memory of the beloved Benjamin Reddish, a program mentor and student applicant interview panelist for the Community Involvement Program for more than 30 years. Dr. Reddish left an extraordinary legacy in the students he mentored as a true champion of positivity, empowerment and love. This scholarship benefits first-generation college students in the Community Involvement Program who are pursuing a career in education.
Dr. Marilyn Draheim Re-Entry Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship was underwritten by emeritus faculty Dr. Marilyn Draheim to support financial aid for non-traditional students who may be transferring from Delta College or other community colleges or students who are going back to school to complete their degree or change career paths.
Special Education Teacher Candidate Scholarship
The need for special education teachers is greater than ever, and Benerd is preparing our future SPED teachers for the needs of students in our K-12 schools. Our hands-on program allows candidates to gain experience applying behavioral and classroom management strategies, academic and pedagogy approaches, and varied supports for diverse learners pertinent to their continuous experiential learning in the field as an educator.
