The Conservatory of Music at University of the Pacific prepares tomorrow’s performers, teachers, therapists, composers, scholars and music industry leaders. Music-making is central to campus life at Pacific. Whether you are a music major or a student in another area of study, you are included. The conservatory has a rich tradition of excellence with nearly 150 performances each year by students, faculty and visiting artists.
We invite you to invest in one of the following giving opportunities to support our students and faculty as part of Pacific Gives 2022. You may also direct your gift to other programs by selecting 'Other' on the donation form and writing in your designation choice.
Music Industry Internships are Life-Changing
The Conservatory of Music has a 135-year history of graduating outstanding music students who pursue successful music careers. To ensure job readiness before graduation, the Keith Hatschek Breakthrough Internship Fund provides financial support to students who incur housing and travel expenses beyond their means. Music management majors often need to travel to Los Angeles or New York for life-changing experiential learning opportunities. Please consider a gift to help our students break through barriers to reach their career potential.
Conservatory Student Emergency Scholarships
For students who find themselves coping with unforeseen expenses that occur due to personal or family financial circumstances, the stress can be overwhelming. The Bridge Fund was created to provide emergency scholarship funding for students in immediate need. In great poetic fashion, the fund name denotes the dual meanings of the word "Bridge." The first is a path from here to there; the second is the B-side of a popular song that often gives the entire piece its meaning. Your support helps students both forge a path forward while developing meaning in their musical studies to complete their college degrees.
Music Therapy
Music therapy graduates enter the field equipped to use music-based interventions to address health-related, psychological, educational, and rehabilitative needs of clients and patients in a variety of settings. Your support helps fund student research, assists interns completing their clinical work, and allows us to invite music therapy experts from across the country who share their knowledge. Gifts to this program greatly impact the educational experiences of music therapy students whose greatest desire is to make a difference in peoples’ lives through music.
Onward! In Memory of Professor Eric Hammer
To celebrate the life and achievements of the late Dr. Eric Hammer, gifts in his memory will support the Hammer Family Memorial Scholarship Endowment for music education students. Professor Hammer influenced the lives of countless students over the decades, while building a nationally recognized Symphonic Wind Ensemble and the University Concert Band. Dr. Hammer was an ambassador of music and its potential to be a transformative force in an individual's life. Please consider supporting the legacy of Dr. Hammer through a gift to this scholarship endowment. Every gift made will be matched dollar for dollar.
Student Performance Ensembles
With many student ensembles to choose from, music-making is central to campus life. Support for our student performance ensembles ensures the rich and varied tradition of excellence by producing nearly 150 performances each year. Students are given a platform for the fundamentals of ensemble collaboration, musicianship and musicality, to gain a broad repertoire and contribute to their career success. Gifts will offset travel expenses and ensure students can continue to travel and perform on world stages when opportunities arise.
You may direct your gift by selecting one of the following ensembles in the drop-down menu of the donation page:
