Thank you for visiting our website! Pacific Motorsports is a student-run engineering club that designs and builds an open-wheeled formula-style race car to compete in the Formula SAE competition. Our goal is to strengthen the engineering skills of students by exposing them to real-life engineering problems not presented in the classroom. Students involved with the club gain highly valued design and manufacturing experience, using CAD software and our on-campus machine shop.
Our club was founded in 2020 with the creation of the first prototype vehicle used by the team to pave the way for future competition vehicles. Pacific Motorsports attended the 2022 Formula SAE competition at Michigan International Speedway for the first time in school history. Overall, we placed 42nd of the 99 teams that attended the event and completed all dynamics events, proving to be a major success for the organization.
Our goal is to compete in the 2024 Formula SAE competition with a completely new vehicle aimed at building upon the foundation laid by the 2022 vehicle. Below are the team’s goals for the 2024 competition.
