The Center for Inclusion and Diversity (CID) was established in 2018 on Pacific's Sacramento Campus to create and sustain a culturally inclusive community across and within the boundaries of culture and identity. The space was created through the advocacy of the Latinx Law Student Association and the Black Law Student Association in collaboration with Lambda, Asian Pacific American Law Student Association, Jewish Law Student Association, and Women’s Caucus.
In order to best serve students in Sacramento, we're counting on your support. Donors like you help provide the CID with the necessary supplies and training opportunities that make us the welcoming, inclusive space we aim to be. Whether it's sponsoring a training event, or helping us cover the cost of coffee and tea, 100% of your gift will go directly towards supporting students who benefit from the resources available through the CID. Your investment will also help ensure that our programming continues to be available for the next generation of students on the Sacramento Campus.
Learn More about the CID:
When the CID was conceived, it was built on three central pillars that serve as the foundation for our goals and programming: Community, Retention, and Advocacy
Community
Students are encouraged to explore the center for kinship and support. The CID is creating a pipeline to ensure that more students from marginalized backgrounds enter law school, thrive in law school, and have healthy careers once they graduate.
Programming to that Effect:
Retention
Students are encouraged to find the emotional support they need to succeed academically. The CID is committed to recruit and retain students from diverse backgrounds and support them academically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Programming to that Effect:
Advocacy
Students need to be prepared to stand up and speak out in today’s world. Programming for the CID seeks to build community, forster understanding on issues of diversity and promote an atmosphere of inclusion for all members of the Sacramento campus. The CID supports students in finding and using their voice in today’s global workplace.
