35th Annual PLSS Spring Event

Please join us at our 35th Annual PLSS Spring Event on Friday, April 11 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the McGeorge Student Center. We will celebrate the work PLSS members have contributed to our community. The Public Legal Services Society (PLSS) at University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law was established in 1990 by law students who wanted to use their legal education to help the less fortunate. The students later created the PLSS summer grant to help law students gain work experience with non-profit and government organizations that need legal interns but cannot afford to pay them. 

The PLSS Summer Grant Program provides current students with modest grants to help cover their living expenses while they volunteer as unpaid summer interns in public interest organizations. The students benefit from the legal experience, and the employer organizations benefit from the free staffing. These positions offer students valuable experiences and enable the organizations they support to provide even more public service.

By supporting the PLSS Summer Grant Program, you are not only helping a McGeorge student receive a valuable hands-on learning opportunity, but you are also supporting vulnerable populations gain access to much needed legal services and assistance.
