McGeorge Rugby Club Endowed Scholarship

The Rugby Football club is about community, law, and a legacy of hard-fought rugby victories. As one of the oldest organizations on campus (dating back to 1981), the team boasts a strong network of alumni, students, and practicing legal professionals. The club looks to promote the sport of Rugby while fostering a stronger community with bonds that last a lifetime.

What we accomplished: 

Leaving a Legacy:

To leave a perpetual mark of excellence and commitment to McGeorge students, the Rugby Football Club established an endowed scholarship to support McGeorge Rugby Club student(s) with an annual scholarship. We successfully raised over $50,000 to establish an endowment and qualify for the Powell Match program that matched our gifts dollar for dollar and doubled the endowment. From this point forward, all gifts made to the McGeorge Rugby Club Endowed Scholarship will be matched by the Powell Match program as they are received until the Powell Fund is depleted. The first scholarship will be awarded next year during the 2022-23 Academic Year. 

Revamping the Rugby Room:

In addition to creating this scholarship, we will also revamp the existing Rugby Room at McGeorge. We want this to be a space of remembrance, community, and inspiration for our students at McGeorge.
